As Hurricane Melissa makes landfall in Jamaica, it brings with it unprecedented devastation—Category 5 winds, torrential rains, and widespread destruction. Thousands of families are displaced, homes are destroyed, and essential infrastructure is severely compromised.
Livingston County CARES Inc. is mobilizing a Hurricane Melissa Relief Fund to support recovery efforts in Jamaica. We are partnering with trusted organizations on the ground to deliver emergency supplies, clean water, medical aid, and shelter to those most affected. Our history of disaster response—from Hurricane Katrina to Hurricane Sandy—has shown that community compassion and swift action can make a life-saving difference.
