Volunteers will engage in recovery work supporting individuals and families impacted by the tornadoes that tore through four states in December of 2022 . The work will be hands-on building of new homes in the hard-hit areas of Barnsley County and Dawson Springs Kentucky. Volunteers will work with our team leader, Tom Wilson, who is a retired teacher and highly skilled construction expert. The work tasks will vary depending on what the last volunteer team accomplished the previous week. No skills are required and this will be a great learning opportunity to learn new skills.

Trip participants will drive to Kentucky from Rochester. The Fuller Center Disaster ReBuilders is the host agency and volunteers will stay in shared living and dining space in a church in Madisonville, KY. All meals are provided by the Fuller Center but volunteers will pay for their own food on the two travel days. Volunteers are required to provide proof of health insurance and accident insurance and a t-shirt is provided for each participant and included in the trip fees.

Registration for this service trip will open on Wednesday, November 29 and continue until all seven spaces on this trip are filled. Please follow the 5 steps below to register and secure a space on this service trip.

Our work with the Fuller Center will be new construction and you may be engaged in framing walls, putting on siding, hanging drywall, putting down flooring, installing windows and trim or painting. I look forward to working with you as you experience the satisfaction of  knowing you helped a family with their new home.
